ABOUT ME

Hi! I am Adhiraj Sud, a grade 12 student studying in The Shri Ram School Aravali, Gurgaon.

Being a passionate footballer and an avid fitness enthusiast, living in one of the most polluted cities in the world has been a constant challenge.

Growing up in Delhi NCR, my childhood memories are of unscheduled school holidays, cancellation of sports activities and park time, being forced to stay indoors with windows and doors shut – all due to poor air quality. I remember hearing the word ‘air pollution’ repeatedly. Frustrated with these restrictions, I began to research on air quality just so that I could find ways to persuade my mother to allow me to play outdoors.

During my high school years, my keen interest in science motivated me to work towards spreading awareness about the seriousness and extent of the hazards of air pollution. The more I researched, I realized this wasn’t a simple localized problem. Air pollution is one of the most significant environmental threats to life. The message is simple – air, which is a sustaining life force for all living beings, is killing us. We need to step up and take action.
